Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square music duo, has made fresh allegations against members of his family, accusing them of subjecting his wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, to emotional abuse during her pregnancy and after the birth of their first child.
In Part 8 of his ongoing tell-all series shared online, the singer became emotional as he recounted what he described as years of mistreatment involving his late mother and elder brother, Jude Okoye.
According to Peter, the most painful incident occurred when his son, Cameron, was about five months old. He alleged that his late mother visited his Omole residence with three pastors, where he and his wife were asked to sit on the floor during a family meeting.
Peter claimed his mother informed them that the Okoye family had decided Lola should leave him.
He further alleged that during the meeting, Jude Okoye picked up a photograph of his infant son and referred to the child with a derogatory Igbo term implying he was a “bastard.”
The singer also claimed his family initially opposed Lola’s pregnancy, alleging they wanted her to terminate it and even circulated an anonymous email questioning the paternity of the unborn child.
Despite the alleged hostility, Peter said his late mother later regretted how Lola had been treated after witnessing his pain. According to him, she urged his brothers to apologise, although he claimed neither Jude nor his twin brother, Paul Okoye, ever did.
He added that before her death, his mother had accepted Lola as part of the family and referred to her as “our wife.”
Peter also alleged that Jude deliberately boycotted his wedding by scheduling a music-related engagement on the same day and later posting a studio photograph online to create the impression that he was elsewhere.
The revelations have sparked widespread reactions on social media.
Shortly after the video was released, Peter’s twin brother, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, appeared to respond in a post referencing their late mother.
“Unfortunately, you’re not here to defend yourself. Continue resting, Mum,” Paul wrote.
The latest episode has further divided public opinion, with some sympathising with Peter and commending him for speaking about his experiences, while others criticised the continued public airing of the family’s long-running dispute and expressed concern over the lasting impact on the P-Square legacy.
